Today was the first day I opted to drive over walking, this is because I wanted to support Ulrica in her assessment drive. It was the right decision, firstly because she passed and secondly because thirty minutes in we had such a great sighting. We were looking at a woodland kingfisher when Annalise spotted a female leopard lying up in the long grass. She watched us for a while, then her tail started to flick before she gave us a little charge. She walked on up the road but not before – in my opinion – I got some good photos.
We may as well have called it a day then as nothing was going to top that. The afternoon was pretty good though with a trip for plenty of sundowners at the gorge.
